Former nuclear engineer at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory, with extensive work on quantum mechanics and direct conversion radioisotopic power sources.

Dr. Russo is an ARL alumnus and a former nuclear engineer at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory with over ten years of experience in nuclear technology, with extensive work on quantum mechanics and indirect photovoltaic alpha power sources.
 

Before DKS, he worked for the U.S. Army Research Laboratory and authored 28 publications and two patents on energy harvesting and radioisotope power source research. (See citations here)

Johnny holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland.

His current research interests include projects to develop low illumination light (LiL) harvesting, hydrogen and tritium fuel storage, and fused deposition modeling (FDM) additive manufacturing.
